I have custom models in my map that show up black or too dark.
These are the things i checked.

1. The custom models all have collmaps that work.

2. I'm using stock map world setting and skybox.

3. I placed stock models in my map and they all show up fine
with no lighting problems.


Whenever the collmap has Clipweap, Clipfull or Clipshot
anything that blocks bullets the model will show up in game
black.

Clipplayer and clipmissle dosen't darken the model as well.
also when i remove Clipweap, Clipfull or Clipshot the custom
model shows up fine but the player can shoot thru the model.

Please help!

What are the settings you're compiling with? Specifically the flare part could be quite interesting.

The asset manager has got nothing to do with this. Back in the pre-cod2 days the asset manager wasn't really that useful.

In any case, the compile settings look a bit off. The thing I'm talking about is this:

The flags are all weird.. Why do you have a 'fast' and an 'extra' flag? Those contradict each other. Also, try removing 'modelAlphaShadow' (or replace it with 'modelshadow') and remove 'maxOccluders 5000000' because it's completely unnecessary and probably has negative effects on your lighting (i.e. the default is completely fine). The -ModelAlphaShadow flag allows transparent surfaces to cast shadows, so perhaps clips count as a transparent surface.

So, basically use this for compiling the lighting:

I set up my compile settings just as you said HuRRaCaNe and
the custom models still show up black. I'll just set up the playerclips instead
of full clips or weapon clips instead.

Alternatively, try clip_weap or something like that. There are massive amounts of different clips, I'm sure a couple will be fit for purpose :)
